COURSE OVERVIEW
Medical Cosmetic Injectibles
The aesthetics industry is rapidly growing. This program prepares medical professionals for competency with basic medical aesthetic injectables. After completing the program, you will be able to understand basic facial anatomy, patient assessment, consultation, & treatment planning as well as FDA-approved Botulinum toxin injections and FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections. The student will also gain an understanding of preventing as well as managing common complications that can arise with medical cosmetic injectables.
Upon completion of the course, and successful completion of the skills test & skills demonstration the student will be granted a certificate of completion of the Introductory Neuromodulator & HA Filler Course. Graduates of this program are prepared for entry-level positions with the following or similar job titles: Medical Aesthetic Injector

Outline/Lessons
Day One Curriculum:
Module 1: Global Market & Target Audience
The medical practitioner will learn about the expected exponential growth for aesthetic injectables including drivers such as the aging population, technological advancements, and beauty consciousness, the target audience as well as consumer trends.
Module 2: Overview of Botulinum Toxin A
Summarizing FDA-approved botulinum toxin A-brands, including the history of, mechanism of action, FDA approval, and dosing.
Module 3: The Aging Face
The provider will identify what contributes to the aging process including changes in the skeleton, fat pads, photo aging, gravity, and loss of collagen & elastin. The student will also learn about the grading of wrinkle severity using the Glogau Wrinkle Scale.
Module 4: Anatomy
Learn about facial anatomy; the facial muscles, in relation to facial expressions, movement, & function. It will also cover an overview of vascular anatomy. The student will learn the different types of wrinkles. You will be introduced to basic aesthetic concepts of how the facial muscles work in tandem with each other.
Module 5: FDA-Approved Muscles
This module will define the FDA-approved muscles for botulinum toxin injection and the role/function of each muscle group.
Module 6: Patient Assessment & Consultation
Analysis of each patient and the suitability for treatment. Gaining a deeper understanding of facial assessment and asymmetry as well as feminine & masculine considerations. The student will learn how to perform a basic consultation for botulinum toxin injections to determine who is and is not a candidate for treatment. Medical photography will be discussed. The student will learn the importance of informed consent. The student will learn the basics of developing a treatment plan.
Module 7: Administration of Neurotoxin
Discuss in detail the FDA-recommended dosage as well as injection techniques for the glabella, frontalis, and obicularis occuli muscles. The student will be introduced to different patterns of these muscle groups.
Module 8: Safety, Post Treatment & Follow-Up Care
Recognizing the importance of safety with medical procedures, the practitioner will learn about safety precautions, the importance of following up with your patient to improve your technique and rapport with your patient as well as monitoring for any adverse events or complications.
Module 9: Skills Test & Demonstration of Skills
Day Two Curriculum:

Module 5: Rheology & FDA approval
This module will define the different FDA-approved HA dermal fillers and locations for HA dermal filler injections. The student will learn about the rheology of dermal fillers & how to choose what product for what location & purpose.
Module 6: Patient Assessment & Consultation
Analysis of each patient and the suitability for treatment will be covered. Gaining a deeper understanding about facial assessment and asymmetry as well as feminine & masculine considerations. The student will learn how to perform a basic consultation for HA dermal filler injections to determine who is and is not a candidate for treatment. Medical photography will be discussed. The student will learn the importance of informed consent. The student will learn the basics of developing a treatment plan.
Module 7: Administration Of HA Dermal Filler
Discuss in detail FDA dosage as well as injection techniques to the mid-face, lips, and nasolabial folds. The use of microcannula will also be introduced.
Module 8: Safety, Post Treatment & Follow-Up Care
Recognizing the importance of safety with medical procedures, the practitioner will learn about the safety precautions, the importance of following up with the patient to improve technique and rapport with the patient as well as monitoring for any adverse events or complications.
Module 9: Skills Test & Demonstration of Skills
Upon successful completion students will be able to:
